Guest Room / Office E-Design

In the midst of Christmas mania, I'm still devoting the majority of my time toward decorating the rest of my house. All of my rooms have been somewhat touched, except one... The 3rd bedroom. Because our house was built in 1942, closets are not like they are today. Ours are pretty small. So Brad gets the closets in our master, and I get the closet in the 3rd bedroom. Because of this, we didn't want to make the room a designated guest room. Bedroom 2 got that title. This room will be the 'office.' I've decided I want to put a daybed in there just in case we have more than 1 guest stay at a time. What kind of hostess would I be if I put someone out on the couch? I also want the room to be easily converted into a nursery for the far future {*nursery: quite the powerful word; both scary & exciting}.

I've found that e-designs are the best way to organize my many design thoughts. There have been way too many instances where the things I've put together in my head do not pan out in real life. Some things have been quite disastrous. There's something about making design mishaps that annoys Brad to no end. Maybe it's the fact that I'm using his money to purchase things & then having to return it?? So to make my life (& Brad's) a little easier & less stressful, I've started to create e-designs.

Here's what I'm thinking for the 'office.' I want fun & girly, yet functional.
What do you think? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going to leave you with a couple of snapshots from a Christmas party this weekend.
Happy Monday!!

  1. First of all - that sweater is beyond words!
Love your vision - specifically the rug and the art. Can't wait to see how it all comes together! xo

  2. Lindsay, I love your plan! I've been working on a plan for the redo of my tween daughter's room and those Serena & Lily sheets and that white desk are both things I've been thinking about using (my daughter loves color and things that are a bit contemporary!). The day bed you chose is BEAUTIFUL!! The wallpaper is the only thing that I might think twice about but then again you seem like the type of girl who could totally pull that off!

    1. Thanks for your feedback! The man of the house couldn't agree with you more about the wallpaper... I may reconsider it. We shall see! :)
