Dining Room Update: Part Une

Holy Mother of... Wallpaper installation is in process as we speak I type & you read. The anticipation was killing me. In the mean time, I've been on the hunt for a rug, art or mirrors, window treatments, something to fill the built-ins, a great tablescape of some sort, and well, I made no progress except for the filling the built-ins...

I paid a visit to my sweet grandparents in South Carolina last weekend because I'm a terrible granddaughter and haven't been there in a couple months almost. My Granny {and don't picture a 90-yr-old, white haired, glasses-wearin', hunched over, little 'ol lady. My Granny is a young 67, tall, blonde bombshell} asked me if I would like to have her late mom's china from years and years ago. Without seeing it, my answer was, "Ummm, YES!" I love anything old & anything with sentimental value.

Here's what was packed away in the attic in a dusty old bin, wrapped with newspaper from 1980

Old lady? Yes. But it's now my old lady china. We'll call her Marge.
Here's Marge in the built-ins

I love Marge on display. When the wallpaper is up & the room is done, she'll be the perfect touch of old.

Now for my dining room 'before the wallpaper' pictures

{Ignore the living room (kinda like I have)... It's nowhere near where I want it to be}
I'll reveal the papered dining room mañana.

On another note, I had two babies turn five over the weekend!
My baby, Ella had a birthday on Friday, and my big boy, Brady had his birthday Sunday...
What would a birthday be without 2 pupcakes?

They're growing up so fast. *tear*

Alright, that's all for today, Folks!

Kiddie Rooms

I keep stumbling across the most adorbs kids rooms on Pinterest lately. It's giving me major baby fever, but lucky for Brad, there will be no baby a brewin' in this belly anytime soon. I would, however, LOVE to decorate a nursery, a toddler's rooms, a preteen's room, a teen's room.... Any room but a grown up room. So... Any takers? Bueller?... Bueller?

Okay then. I suppose I'll get on with these fab rooms.

Seriously, these little love bugs have a better space than I do. So stinkin' cute... I can't even take it!

Pillow Talk

One thing lacking in my house were pillows. I searched high and low for fabrics for custom pillows, or inexpensive Etsy pillows, or manufactured pillows from home stores, but got nowhere. I found nothing. Nada. Zilch. While I love the popular fabrics that most bloggers have purchased for their pillows or drapes {no, I will not call you out}, I did not want to go in that direction. All the searching finally paid off. I am so friggin excited for my beloved pillows to arrive allll the way from India. THANK YOU, EBAY! You're amazing. Really, you are.
Brace yourself. They're fab.

Market Finds

World Market, that is...

Let's face it, we're all on a budget when it comes to decorating our homes. We moved into our new house in August with literally NOTHING to fill it with. We've spent, what feels like a million bucks since then on furniture and decor, and splurged a few too many times. It's design on a dime time.

Bradley & I visited World Market over the weekend and walked away with a new pillow & mirror for $100. OH YEAH, OH YEAH!

I also found these bad boys for super cheap... for what they are, anyway

Everyone needs a pharmacy lamp, and I'm loving this one for $89.99

Are y'all lovin' this wishbone chair as much as I am?? HELLO!! $139.99!!

Can this go in my backyard with a some white sheepskin and a fab pillow & blanket, please? Oh, and for just $179.99.

I can see it all now in this big head of mine, and I likey what I see...

Tell me, when you can't find a great thrift store find and want / need pieces for your home on the cheap, where do you look?
