Sequin, Bedazzle & Glitter, Oh My!

If there's a time for you to pull out the sequined and bedazzled clothing, it's New Year's Eve!
What can I say?! I'm a girly girl... I love sequins. I love glitter. I love bedazzled clothing. And on New Year's Eve, it comes out in full force!

Remember this outfit from Carrie's NYE in S&TC The Movie?

I found an identical hat at Topshop a few years back, and I've been wearing it on this day every year since.

Here are just a few outfits that would make for the perfect NYE outfit out.

I truly believe 2013 will be my best year thus far. I'm starting a new position at my job, for one. I also hope to come back in 2013 with more followers {pretty please :) }

I hope you all had the best Christmas filled with love, laughter and lots of family and friend time. And I wish you all the happiest of New Years!

See you in 2013!!!

Christmas Frenzy

I'm in a Christmas frenzy. I always tell myself I'll start my shopping early, but that's never the case...

Brad's mom is arriving Saturday to celebrate Christmas with us early, then we're off to South Carolina to see my family. And quite frankly, I'm in a panic. There are more presents to buy. There will be presents to wrap. There's a house to clean. There's homemade chocolate covered cherries to be made. And there's not enough time to do it all!

I did, however, manage to wrap the few gifts I already have. Every year, I go with a wrapping paper theme. This year, the theme is kraft paper.

Pinterest makes kraft paper look much more festive & trendy. I'm not that impressed with my wrapping this year. Thoughts?

Safe travels to all who are traveling this weekend!

Wilmington Home Tour

I was invited into the most amazing house here in Wilmington. It sits right on the waterway, and the interior is nothing short of perfect. I toured the 1st floor & snapped some pictures of the interior. It's too beautiful not to share!

These blurry iphone photos do not do this house justice. And in case you're wondering, the photo with the beautiful ladies in it IS, in fact, a closet!

I'm fighting a sickness today, but I hope all of you have a wonderful Monday!

Friday Faves

{1}
Favorite Holiday Movie

Bethany @ B SOUP got it right with this 'Kevin McAllister Chic' post she did. The 'Merry Christmas you filthy animal' t-shirt will be arriving at my doorstep any day now.

Favorite Holiday Hors D'oeuvre: Arancini

If you've never had arancini, you don't know what you're missing! It's my favorite food (risotto) rolled into balls, stuffed with cheese & whatever else, then fried & served with tomato sauce (usually). It's the most delicious thing I have and will ever eat. Epicurious has a fantastic recipe here.

Favorite Picture

This is my new little family at our Christmas Party. I adore each of these women so much. And as you can see, I decided to wear my new Alice & Olivia peplum top! Isn't it festive?

Pantone's Color Of The Year: Emerald

Lately, I've been obsessed with the color emerald, and I guess I'm not the only one!
I love it in home interiors & exteriors, business interiors & exteriors, shoes, accessories, clothing... Pretty much everything!

Just a few of my favorite ways to incorporate this 'lively, radiant, lush, elegant, beautiful' color into one's life:

Happy 12/12/12!
{It's crazy to think this is the last time in my life that I'll see a triple date.}
Kelly Ripa believes this is a lucky day. I sure hope so!

I'm also loving the cooler weather... 70 degree weather just doesn't feel like Christmas to me.

Enjoy your day!

Guest Room / Office E-Design

In the midst of Christmas mania, I'm still devoting the majority of my time toward decorating the rest of my house. All of my rooms have been somewhat touched, except one... The 3rd bedroom. Because our house was built in 1942, closets are not like they are today. Ours are pretty small. So Brad gets the closets in our master, and I get the closet in the 3rd bedroom. Because of this, we didn't want to make the room a designated guest room. Bedroom 2 got that title. This room will be the 'office.' I've decided I want to put a daybed in there just in case we have more than 1 guest stay at a time. What kind of hostess would I be if I put someone out on the couch? I also want the room to be easily converted into a nursery for the far future {*nursery: quite the powerful word; both scary & exciting}.

I've found that e-designs are the best way to organize my many design thoughts. There have been way too many instances where the things I've put together in my head do not pan out in real life. Some things have been quite disastrous. There's something about making design mishaps that annoys Brad to no end. Maybe it's the fact that I'm using his money to purchase things & then having to return it?? So to make my life (& Brad's) a little easier & less stressful, I've started to create e-designs.

Here's what I'm thinking for the 'office.' I want fun & girly, yet functional.
What do you think? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going to leave you with a couple of snapshots from a Christmas party this weekend.
Happy Monday!!

Hostess Gift Guide + My XMas Tree

I had a completely different post in mind today. However, Brad & I have a Christmas party to attend tomorrow night, and I found myself not knowing what to give to the hostess. So, I did a little research, and I have come up with, what I think, are the best gift ideas for any hostess.

And now for a few of my Christmas decorations around my house...

Unfortunately, our fireplace was sacrificed for another bathroom... So the stockings were hung on the built-ins with care! And I found the most perfect gingham ribbon. However, when I got home, I realized I didn't buy near enough to wrap my tree. Thus, the bows.

Here's another sneak peak at my new striped walls <with a very dirty Ella Bella>...

Once I find the perfect art, I'll share the entire wall.

P.S. I just ADORE my new spotted pillow!

TGIF, everyone!!!
